Lover's eyes

I've had these little frames for quite some time now and was wanting to painting some Lover's eyes. I used 300gsm acid free paper to paint these in Acrylic. The frames have been hand embellished with pearls and a little hand-made tassel. The framed pieces have convex glass and are approximately 12cm x 14cm.

If you are interested in purchasing you can find these in my etsy shop here.

Here's a little history about Lover's Eye pieces
Lovers' eyes were Georgian miniatures, normally watercolour on ivory, depicting the eye or eyes of a spouse, loved one or child. These were usually commissioned for sentimental reasons and were often worn as bracelets, brooches, pendants or rings with richly decorated frames, serving the same emotional need as lockets hiding portraits or locks of hair. They were often very mysterious and cause for scandal and speculation as only the wearer knew the identity of the eye.
